At this point, I'm holding my #QuarantineGoals to a way higher standard than my usual New Years goals...especially because 2020 has been a bit of a flop so far. I'm sure that most of you can agree that sheltering in place has definitely put life into perspective. It's personally given me a chance to take a step back and ask myself what is most important and what goals I can be working on right now while I have the time.
At the beginning of the month I created an April calendar (mainly out of boredom) as a way to start holding myself accountable to work out each day. Once I started working out and was crossing each day off, an idea sparked that I could take this quarantine time to achieve some of my goals on a more serious level. When normal life is happening, I don't have much time or energy to focus on these goals, so why not kick some ass and get going!?

My Quarantine Goals:
1. Be the healthiest version of me.
Y'all, I am going to be in beast mode when I am allowed out of this apartment, okay!? I'm going to be feeling and looking so fine that it's going to be blinding. *Aright, Kimmy, let's settle down.* But actually, let's do this ish! I am determined to eat a healthy diet, move my body daily and gain some self confidence during this period. I have sat on my ass for so long in the past making up excuses to not eat well, not workout, and not feeling 100% myself. It's time to snap out of it and commit to being the healthiest version of me.
2. Read two books a month.
Maybe for some of you this is easy peasy and at one point before life got chaotic it was easy for me as well, but these days, no. I started off this year by saying that I wanted to read one book a month, well during quarantine I am determined to read two books a month because WHY NOT. There are only so many tv shows and movies that I can watch, and to be honest, I'm getting brain fried. I have always loved reading, so I am going to push myself to do it.
My current morning routine includes making my coffee as soon as I get up and then reading for an hour. That's how I personally fit a book into my day.
3. Cook for damn myself.
I'm not going to lie, I was excited to quarantine with my parents because my Dad can COOK. I'm not a chef in the kitchen so having a personal chef at home was music to my ears. From my past post, most of you know that I am on a specific diet, so I cannot eat a lot of the things my parents eat on the daily (this includes dairy, #%$^%!). While I have been here my Dad has been very supportive about my health journey, so he consistently checks in to make sure they aren't veering me off of my path by having certain foods in the fridge. Luckily, I have built some really good willpower and this mainly has to do with the fact that I feel SO GOOD right now, so why screw that up?
In order to stay on the right path I have made a pact with myself that I need to continue cooking my own food. I need to know what is going in my food everyday and most importantly I need to keep learning HOW to cook. A goal that is tagged onto this is also learning new recipes!
4. Spend time with my sister.
My sister is only 7-years-old. Do you remember life at 7!? I remember at least having my older brothers with me and making fun memories with them. Being 19 years older than my sister means many different things. A couple of reasons being that her one and only sibling doesn't live with her full time and she can't play with me in the way that she could with other siblings her age. I'm not going to lie, sometimes this makes me a little sad because I want her to know that I am always here and I can be a lot of fun.
During quarantine I'm trying to hang out with her as much as I can. Sure, we watch movies and YouTube, but I am also making it a goal to relax with her and connect by just chatting about life while coloring or going for a walk.
5. Create this blog!
I have always wanted to create a blog. I've started so many in the past but I never had the balls to hit 'publish' and be serious about it. While I have this time at home, I'm making it a big quarantine goal. I want this blog to be successful and for the readers to be able to connect and enjoy it along with me. I am determined to put a smile on everyone's faces each day. My goal is to write a post 3 days a week and I am setting this goal RIGHT NOW. (You guys better hold me to it!)
6. Make an effort + reach out to others.
You never know what people are going through, especially right now. For those of you that are close with me, you know I am not the best about keeping in touch, it's something I've become aware of and want to work on. I am making it an extra special quarantine goal to connect with people. You never know how it will help someone!
My strongest tip for setting goals is to write them on a piece of paper and to hang it in place where you will always see them. I am a visual person, so I've hung my goals up near my bed so that when I fall asleep and wake up I'm reminded of them daily.
What I want to know: What are your #quarantinegoals?
